Most Common Causes of Fatal Traffic Collisions

What are the most common causes of fatal traffic collisions?

The most common causes of fatal traffic collisions are intoxication and speeding.

A collision is a brief interaction between two bodies or more than two bodies at once that modifies the motion of the bodies involved as a result of internal forces acting between them. There are two types of collisions: elastic collisions, which conserve both momentum and kinetic energy, and inelastic collisions, which only do so for momentum.

The forces involved in collisions (there is a change in velocity). The closing speed is the size of the velocity differential immediately prior to the collision. Momentum is conserved in every collision. If they also conserve kinetic energy, collisions of different types are distinguished from one another.

The head-on collision is the deadliest accident type by far. Head-on crashes take into account the speeds of both vehicles at the moment of impact, therefore, even a collision at a moderate speed might be disastrous.
