Give a brief about Virginia Company.

King James I established the Virginia Company on April 10, 1606, with the intention of settling America's eastern seaboard. The coast, which extended from modern-day Maine to the Carolinas, was given the name Virginia in honour of Elizabeth I. Londoners made up the majority of the company's stockholders, setting it apart from the Plymouth Company, which was chartered at the same time and was mostly made up of gentlemen from Plymouth, England.

The largest commerce breakthrough came as a result of the introduction of various Caribbean-born sweeter tobacco strains by intrepid colonist John Rolfe. Compared to Virginia's native tobacco, they produced a more pleasing product.
